Charming guest room in Quimperlé

Perfectly placed to overlook the medieval quarters of Quimperlé, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, this completely independent guest room nestles in the middle of a garden, blending harmoniously with the planted walls, and located 15 minutes from the beaches and a 5-minute walk from a wide choice of restaurants.

Joëlle has chosen the right name for this garden room with its beautiful view, and have decorated with understated elegance to create a very pleasing space. The charm comes from the beauty of the setting, the simple yet convivial way of life it inspires, and the high quality of the welcome.

Depending on the weather, you can enjoy breakfast on the delightful little veranda or right in the garden, but either way it’s also a chance to chat, to get advice and perhaps tips on days out. The breakfast itself focuses on organic produce: yoghurts, preserves and homemade cakes, or crêpes, cereal, fruit – sometimes from the garden – bread, and unlimited smiles.

From the garden, you’ll enjoy open views. There are two lovely outdoor terraces so you can take your pick of sun or shade, including colourful sun-loungers beckoning you to unwind listening to the birds. Joëlle has collected an intriguing assortment of garden furniture, accessorised by spherical clay objects lining the path, rather like the signs on the pilgrim trail of Saint-Jacques – Quimperlé is where two of its paths converge.

There are many walking paths to follow from this guest room, including rivers, bell-towers, hills, flower-covered bridges, a Romanesque Abbey church, winding streets and a forest. By car, you can reach picture-postcard ports and the GR34 coastal path that closely follows the coastline fringed with seafoam and sandy beaches. Then, for day trips, head to Pont-Aven (10 minutes away), Concarneau, Quimper, Vannes or the glorious Morbihan Gulf, or even a boat trip to the Glénan Islands and the Île de Groix.

“This wouldn’t be heaven, by any chance, would it?”
